With more than 14 years of experience in construction, development, and project management, Shay Millheiser provides owner-representation and consulting services for residential construction projects, ranging from renovations to $15M+ projects. Her role has spanned full project oversight, including budgeting, design coordination, construction management, quality control, consultant coordination, and owner advocacy throughout all phases of a project. She is also frequently brought into existing projects to assist with forensic budgeting analysis, problem-solving, and identifying the appropriate engineers, building-envelope consultants, specialty trades, or vendors needed to resolve complex project issues.

Shay’s approach is heavily informed by building science and high-performance construction principles. Having completed the Building Science 101–401 curriculum, she closely follows emerging construction technologies, advanced building assemblies, and alternative construction methodologies including cold-formed steel framing, autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), CMU, ICF, and other building systems. Ongoing education remains central to her work, with annual attendance at industry-leading events such as the International Builders’ Show, World of Concrete, and Build Show Live to stay current on evolving products, systems, and best practices.

In addition to field and consulting experience, Shay is proficient with operational and management platforms widely used in the construction industry, including Buildertrend, Procore, and CoConstruct. For projects lacking centralized management systems, Shay's team can implement Buildertrend to streamline communication, document management, daily logs, scheduling, selections, and project transparency for both owners and project teams.

Her ability to interpret architectural plans, structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and takeoffs allows her to bridge the gap between design intent and jobsite execution when needed. As an owner’s representative, Shay is uniquely positioned to communicate effectively between owners, architects, designers, engineers, and builders — translating priorities, facilitating decisions, and helping maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
